One player on each course will be selected to complete in the Grand Skills Final, Which will be held in Manchester United's premier stadium- Old Trafford.

Manchester Academy of English

English language course combined with FA qualified football coaching in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, one of the UK’s most successful premiership teams.

Manchester Academy of English is proud to offer an English language course combined with FA qualified football coaching in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, one of the UK’s most successful premiership teams.

The course takes place every summer and students have a choice of staying for 2, 4 or 6 weeks with start dates in July and August.

We welcome a diverse range of nationalities on the course and both male and female football fanatics are welcome. The course caters for most abilities of football player but not for beginners nor for international standard young players. Minimum age is 15 years old.

The course is run at the state-of-the-art Platt Lane Complex, one of Manchester City FC’s training grounds and home of The Youth Academy for young Manchester City players. Facilities include excellent indoor and outdoor football pitches, a gym and training rooms as well as large, well-equipped classrooms.

English language training is offered by the teachers of British Council accredited Manchester Academy and takes place every morning from Monday to Friday.

Football coaching includes work on the key skills of football; dribbling, turning, shooting, passing and ball control as well as teamwork and confidence building. Students will play in 5-a-side and 11-aside matches.

Accommodation is available to all students of 15 years old and over in our carefully selected host families. Host families provide a single room with shared use of the family bathroom, breakfast and evening meal from Monday to Friday and full board at weekends.

Students of 18 years old and over can choose to stay in a self-catering university student flat of 4 bedrooms. Bedrooms are single with en-suite shower rooms and there is shared use of the student flat’s lounge and kitchen.

For all students cooked lunches are available at the football training ground from Monday to Friday.

Also included is a full excursion programme with full day excursions to, for example, Liverpool, Chester, York and Blackpool and half day excursions to both the City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester City’s home ground, and Old Trafford, home of the world famous Manchester United.

• 3 afternoons per week of FA qualified football coaching
